Novelists are creators. We gather particles of dust and fashion them into characters, settings, and stories. This is what I love most about writing fiction--this ability to create life--albeit a fictitious life. I feel as though through the process I receive a glimpse of how God must have felt when He fashioned Adam from dust and breathed life into Him. Likewise, God has woven each of us together in our mothers' wombs--fashioning each individual and unique characteristic. There is only one me--only one you. And each life then touches another life and another...
