Tricia Goyer did a some hands-on research at a reunion of the 11th Armored Division, who have made several appearances in her novels over the years, learning a thing or two about the Spanish Civil War that preceded WWII. She also reflects on Jesus as the ultimate Friend to see her through the unexpected challenges of uprooting her family and moving to Little Rock, Arkansas.
